Gregory Helms wins a Nine-Man Cruiserweight Championship Match

At the Royal Rumble, Gregory Helms defeated five other men to win the Cruiserweight Championship. At No Way Out, Helms had eight opponents for his championship, but still managed to walk away with the gold.

The rules of the match dictated that the first man to score a pinfall or submission would walk out as Cruiserweight Champion, and the action was fast and furious as all nine competitors in the match went at it tooth and nail. Early in the bout, Helms tried to hide outside of the ring, but was eventually brought into the squared circle and beat down by all of his opponents.

As the match neared conclusion, all eight opponents had a shot to pin the champion, but someone else was there to break up the pinfall. After taking Sliced Bread #2 from Brian Kendrick, a senton bomb from Paul London and The Worm from Scotty 2 Hotty, Helms was saved when Kid Kash broke up Psicosis' pinfall attempt.

Kash went on to hit Dead Level on Psicosis, but Super Crazy broke up the pinfall with a top-rope moonsault. With all three of those men down on the mat, a recovered Helms snuck in and pinned Psicosis to retain the championship.
