WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CAL STATE STANISLAUS
center Shannon Donnelly has been named the Rawlings California
Collegiate Athletic Association Women¹s Basketball Player of
the Week for the week of January 24-30.
Donnelly, a 6-0 freshman from Ceres, Calif.,
was the driving force behind a pair of home victories that moved
the Warriors into second place in the CCAA standings. She posted
her league-leading 15th and 16th double-doubles against UC
Riverside and Cal State, San Bernardino last week to finish the
week averaging 17.0 points and 16.0 rebounds and shooting 58.3
percent from the floor.
In a 67-61 win over Riverside, Donnelly had a
game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 12 points on 67 percent
shooting (6 of 9) and two blocked shots. The following night,
Donnelly led all scorers and rebounders with 22 points and 17
boards, respectively, and added three steals and two assists while
shooting 53 percent from the floor (8 of 15). The Player of the
Week honor is the second this season for Donnelly.
