WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- GRAND CANYON
centerfielder Brian Sellier has been named the Rawlings California
Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for
the week of January 31-February 6.
Sellier, a 6-1 senior from Phoenix, Ariz.,
powered the No. 3 Antelopes to a three-games-to-one series win
over Mesa State last week, hitting .533 (8 for 15), with two
triples, a grand slam home run, four runs, two walks and 12 RBI.
After going hitless in the series opener,
Sellier caught fire in the next contest with three hits in three
at-bats, two runs, two RBI and a pair of walks. He then had
another three-for-three performance, including a triple, and added
a run and four RBI in an 8-4, seven-inning win over Mesa before
capping the series with a grand slam, triple and six RBI in a 12-7
Canyon win.
The CCAA Player of the Week honor is the third
of Sellier¹s career.
