WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CAL POLY POMONA forward
Lauri McIntosh has been named the Rawlings California Collegiate
Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the
week of January 31-February 6.
McIntosh, a 5-10 sophomore from Diamond Bar,
Calif., continued upward on the All-America campaign trail in a
pair of wins at Cal State, San Bernardino and UC Riverside. The
CCAA's leading scorer (20.9 ppg), McIntosh blazed her way to a
game-high 30 points on 75 percent shooting (12 of 16, 6-7 FT), and
a game-high nine rebounds and two assists in only 24 minutes of
action to lead the Broncos to a 100-65 romp of CSUSB.
She then produced her fifth double-double of
the season the following night in an 85-61 rout of UC Riverside
with additional game-highs in points (20) and rebounds (10). She
shot 50 percent from the floor (7 of 14) and converted all five
free-throw attempts. For the week, McIntosh averaged 25 points on
63 percent shooting overall (19 of 30) and 92 percent from the
foul line (11 of 12). She averaged 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in
earning her second Player of the Year honor this season.
