WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- SONOMA STATE righthander Colin Hayes has been named the Rawlings CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of February 21-27.

Hayes, a senior from Pescadero, Calif., allowed one hit over six and two-thirds innings to earn the victory in the Cossacks' 2-0 win at Cal State L.A. in SSU's CCAA opener. He struck out four, walked two and didn't allow a CSLA batter past second base in improving his season record to 3-1.

The CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor is the first for Hayes this season and the second of his career.
