WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CAL STATE, SAN
BERNARDINO guard Lonnie Tape' has been named the Rawlings
California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player
of the Week for the week of November 22-28.
Tape', a 6-6 senior from Chicago, led the
Coyotes to the championship of the Westmont College Tom Byron
Classic last week. He was named the tournament's most valuable
player after averaging 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds and shooting
67 percent from the floor (14-21) in the two contests. Tape had 14
points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 69-56 win over
Concordia, Neb. to open the tournament. He then led the way in the
championship game with a team-high 19 points on 9 of 12 shooting
and six rebounds. The CCAA Player of the Week honors is the first
of Tape's career.
