Long known as a premier leader in intercollegiate athletics, the California Collegiate Athletic Association continues to lead the way in its 62nd year as NCAA Division IIs most established and successful conference. The 12-member league is home to some of the nations finest Division II athletic programs in Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State L.A., Cal State, San Bernardino, Cal State Stanislaus, Chico State, UC Davis, UC San Diego, Grand Canyon, San Francisco State and Sonoma State. The CCAA sponsors seven womens and six mens sports. Fall sports include mens and womens cross country, mens and womens soccer and womens volleyball. Mens and womens basketball are the CCAAs winter offerings, and womens tennis, mens golf, mens and womens track & field, softball and baseball complete the spring season. The CCAA Commissioners Office relocated from southern California to the San Francisco Bay Area-suburb of Walnut Creek in July 1998. Robert J. Hiegert is in his fourth year as Commissioner. |
