WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UC SAN DIEGO’s Melisa Liao has been named the HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports California Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 26-Apr. 1.

Liao, a sophomore from Yorba Linda, played a key role for UCSD in two CCAA team wins over Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State L.A. last week. She rebounded from an injury earlier in the week to win both of her No. 3 singles matches and No. 2 doubles matches against the CCAA foes, including a 6-4, 6-0 singles triumph vs. CSLA.
