The Minority Business Enterprise Program Policy

Competition is one of the cornerstones of the American free enterprise system. Effective business development by minorities and women increases competition, provides employment opportunities and increases the tax base. Purchase of goods and services from minority and women entrepreneurs therefore is not only good corporate citizenship, but also sound business. ABC is committed to developing and maintaining a vibrant Minority/Women Business Enterprises Program.

Enlightened management knows that success for minority and women business entrepreneurs is critical to our nation’s economic vitality. Minority and women business development increases competition, provides employment opportunities and increases the tax base.

Our Minority/Women Business Enterprises Program is an important part of our total operation.

Qualifying as a M/WBE

A qualified minority business enterprise is a business that is at least 51% owned, controlled and managed by one or more minority persons or women. For the purpose of this program, a minority person is an individual that is of African American, Hispanic American, Asian Pacific American, Subcontinent Asian or Native American heritage.
