Southern Utah's Jess Baumgartner ELMHURST, ILL. — After winning 14 Mid-Continent Conference cross country championships in the last eight years, it is no surprise that Southern Utah’s men’s and women’s cross country squads are the preseason favorite to take home the 2005 title in a vote of the league’s nine head coaches. The Thunderbird men have won seven Mid-Con crowns in eight years, while the T-Bird women have taken home top honors each of the last seven seasons. - FULL STORY

MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois University head track and field coach Mike Stevenson has announced the hiring of Matt Morris as the head cross country coach for the 2005 season. Oral Robert's Faithy Kamangila and Southern Utah's Jess Baumgartner were the Mid-Con's lone representatives in Monday's NCAA Championships.
