Turek claims Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors after leading the Golden Eagles to a pair of Mid-Con wins last week, including a victory over league-leading Western Illinois that snapped the nation’s longest home court winning streak. The junior forward was 4-for-8 from the field and finished with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the WIU win. In Monday’s 72-50 victory over Centenary, Turek continued her solid play with a team-best 19 points to go along with nine rebounds and two steals. In two games last week, Turek averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals with a 55.5% field goal percentage and a perfect 10-for-10 mark from the free throw line.
