STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Mid-Continent Conference SAAC
The Mid-Continent Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) consists of one male and one female student-athlete from each of the conference’s nine member institutions. The conference SAAC meets via teleconference twice per academic year (late fall and late spring) to discuss NCAA and conference issues that involve student-athlete welfare. For the first time in Mid-Con history, the SAAC will come together for an in-person meeting during the summer of 2005.
Brooke Carr, a former swimmer from IUPUI, continues her term as the Mid-Continent Conference representative on the NCAA Division I National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which meets three times a year in conjunction with the Division I Management Council meetings. Brooke also was recently selected by the National SAAC to serve as a member of the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics.
Mission Statement
The mission statement of the Mid-Con SAAC is to actively promote a positive relationship between student-athletes and both league and campus athletic administrators through open communication, support, representation and constructive feedback while creating unity, academic success and well-being among all student-athletes.
Sportsmanship
It shall be the responsibility of each member institution to ensure that all of its students, as well as those individuals employed by or directly associated with the institution, conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner when representing their university, especially at intercollegiate athletic contests.
