WIU’s Jarrell Johnson Named to NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Western Illinois' Jarrell Johnson
MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois sophomore Jarrell Johnson has been selected as the Mid-Continent Conference representative to the NCAA Division I Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Johnson, a two-sport athlete in football and track and field, is one of just 31 student-athletes across the nation that were chosen to represent their respective athletic conferences on the national committee.

Mid-Con men’s basketball semifinal games to be televised

ELMHURST, ILL. — The Mid-Continent Conference announced today that both semifinal games of the Mid-Con Men’s Basketball Championship will be televised on Monday, March 6. The games, which take place at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., can be seen in six different markets, including Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis and Kansas City.

CSU, ORU, Valpo and WIU notch conference wins in women's hoops

Western Illinois' Zane Teilane
Four women's basketball squads added conference victories on Monday night. Chicago State edged UMKC, 57-55, Western Illinois moved into sole possession of first-place in the league standings with a 60-57 win over IUPUI, Valparaiso ran past Centenary 91-44, and Oral Roberts topped Southern Utah, 71-56.
