Oakland, Western Illinois and Valparaiso clinch Men's Soccer Championship berths

Western Illinois and Oakland picked up conference wins over Centenary and UMKC, respectively. The victories also clinched berths in the Mid-Con Championship for WIU, OU and Valparaiso, which defeated IUPUI Friday night. In non-conference action Saturday, Oral Roberts shutout Newman, 5-0.
Western Illinois 4, Centenary 1
Nick Bohnenkamp scored twice, including the game-winner in the 43rd minute, to lead Western Illinois to a 4-1 win over Centenary Saturday. The win clinched a berth in the Mid-Con Championship for WIU. Nowaf Jaman and Adam Johnson also scored for the Leathernecks, while Kosuke Kimura and Matt Wieclaw added two assists apiece.

Oakland earned a berth in the Mid-Con Championship with a 1-0 victory over UMKC Saturday. Chris Edwards scored his third goal of the season in the 66th minute to lift the Golden Grizzlies past UMKC. Jeff Wiese made three saves to ensure his second shutout of the year.

Dave Leung and Jorge Flor combined for five goals on the night as the Oral Roberts men’s soccer team routed Newman. Leung notched his second career hat trick in the win.
