Oakland's Chris Edwards and Oral Roberts' Carlos Veron were selected as the Mid-Con Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, after leading their respective teams to league wins last week.

Edwards takes home Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the first time in 2005 after leading Oakland to a 3-0 win over IUPUI and the regular-season title for the fifth time in school history. The senior forward scored all three of the Golden Grizzly goals against IUPUI to bring his season total to six. It was the first career hat trick for Edwards, who is tied for fifth in the Mid-Con in goals.

DEFENSIVE

Veron is the Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Golden Eagles to a berth in the Mid-Con Championship with a 1-0-1 record last weekend. In a 1-1 tie against Western Illinois, Veron stopped a pair of shots, including a key rejection in overtime. The junior keeper notched his fourth shutout of the season with three saves in a 2-0 win over Centenary Sunday afternoon. Veron is second in the Mid-Con in goals against average (1.09) and shutouts.
