Oral Roberts sweeps Western Illinois while Oakland and Southern Utah split in baseball conference play

Oral Roberts swept a pair of games from conference foe Western Illinois Sunday by 5-0 and 7-1 scores. Oakland and Southern Utah split the final two games of their weekend conference series as the T-Birds took game one, 10-2, and OU won the nightcap, 5-0. Valparaiso's non-conference tilt against North Dakota State was rained out. The game will not be made up.

Oakland and Southern Utah wrapped up their weekend conference series with a split Sunday as the T-Birds took game one, 10-2, while the Golden Grizzlies took the nightcap, 5-0. SUU's Joe Wright led the offense in game one with a 2-for-4 effort with two RBI and scored two runs, while Charlie Hahl and Keli`i Zablan each recorded a RBI and scored a run. Andrew Stafford went 2-for-2 with two RBI and scored a run to lead OU to the game two win, while Ben Darga pitched 4.2 innings of four-hit relief and struck out two.

Oral Roberts sweep a twinbill from conference foe Western Illinois by 5-0 and 7-1 scores. ORU's Chris Ashman allowed five hits in nine innings and struck out six for the game one win, while Tim Torres and Travis DeBondt each collected a pair of RBI. Nick Jones gave the Golden Eagles another strong effort on the hill with seven innings of 10-hit ball, allowing one run and striking out 12.
