The All Sports Awards are given annually to the member institution that accumulates the most points in relationship to placement in conference sponsored championships, while the Commissioner’s Cup is given to the institution that collects the most combined points between its men’s and women’s athletic programs. The men’s award is named for former Valparaiso Director of Athletics Dr. William Steinbrecher, who guided the Crusaders from 1979-04, while the women’s award is named for former Western Illinois Director of Athletics Dr. Helen Smiley, who headed up that athletic program from 1994-01.
Standings for the 2004-05 Commissioner’s Cup, the Dr. William Steinbrecher Men’s All Sports Award and Dr. Helen Smiley Women’s All Sports Award, as well as a breakdown of each institution’s points and finishes within each sport, can be found by downloading the release in .pdf format above.
