by Brian Jacques NEW -- 02.24.03! Check out the annontation for Loamhedge below. "While a group of adventurers from Redwall seeks out the ancient abbey of Loamhedge in hopes of curing a young haremaid's paralysis, Redwall is besieged by vermin." Also, David Elliot will be doing the interior illustrations for Loamhedge. -Further confirmation that the book is complete ("...Loamhedge is well finished. It's just reached the publishers now..."). -The book isn't a direct sequel to Triss -- no returning characters. -Loamhedge 'has has become a sort of one of the great lost cities of Mossflower, and there's a quest to find something there that will be a help to the inhabitants of Redwall.' -We'll read about Sarobando and Bragoon, the two dibbuns mentioned in Mr. Jacques' letter, as dibbuns in Loamhedge. **"Q: When the mice of Loamhedge still lived in the Loamhedge area how did they live? in Mossflower it says that they couldn't have built an abbey because there was very few natural stone to use for an abbey, so how did they eat and sleep and all that stuff? A: A village community." **"Q: Where are Triss and Loamhedge placed in the chronological order of the Redwall books? A: After Taggerung." **"Q: Who will the main character in the book Loamhedge be? A: Martha, a young hare." Multiply the number of seasons it takes for a stone to grow old, by a thousand, and the name of Loamhedge is still spoken of at Redwall Abbey. The first mice, led by Abbess Germaine, fled the great sickness of Loamhedge to wander through Mossflower. There it was that they met Martin the Warrior and his Corim friends. Together they helped build Redwall Abbey. Most of Loamhedge was destroyed at the climax of Mattimeo. But still its mysteries lay hidden. What secrets of ancient wisdom were buried there? |
