Glåma, also Glomma, largest river of Norway, rising near the town of Røros, in east central Norway. The river flows in a southerly direction, emptying into the Skagerrak at the city of Fredrikstad after a course of 610 km (380 mi). Navigation on the Glåma is possible for 16 km (10 mi), from the mouth to a waterfall, and then for 32 km (20 mi) to a second waterfall.
