Which Snow White Movie Will You See? Neither is an Option.

Kristen Stewart, who can make money as a girl in love with a vampire but little else, is sticking with the mythic. She's negotiating to star in Snow White and the Huntsman, a project at Universal focusing on the relationship between Snow White and Viggo Mortensen's Huntsman. (Will Twihards accept Kristen romancing an older actor?) The evil queen—naturally, the best role—is to be played by Charlize Theron in a bid at mainstream action success, much like her superheroic part in Hancock.

The queen role must be as appealing to actresses as it is to the Observer, because Julia Roberts is to take on the part in Relativity's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, whose awkward title hints at a prospective franchise. Roberts needs a hit, and Relativity, run by the ultra-ambitious Ryan Kavanaugh, is seeking to become a full studio, not merely a company that produces other studio's hits (Get Him to the Greek, Grown Ups, and The Social Network were among Relativity's bright spots—with profits shared with distributors—in 2010.) Roberts's project—with no other stars attached as yet—seems the more promising, in terms of pedigree. Plus, isn't she far more overdue than Theron to play evil?
