Proving yet again that Mel Brooks was on to something—indeed, it is good to be the king—the categories for the 2011 Nightclub & Bar Awards reflect Las Vegas’ dominance of the nightlife scene nationally. So complete has been our rule over the annual awards lineup that this year, Las Vegas has been elevated to a category unto itself. Also new this year: the addition of the word “dayclub” to the awards lexicon.

Each year, Nightclub & Bar magazine (Nightclub.com) selects winners from the nation’s best venues, large and small, and honors them at the Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show. This year’s kickoff party will be March 7 at Caesars Palace.

“Each of these winners combines innovation with great execution, which is the secret to success, especially in the recent challenging economy,” says Donna Hood Crecca, Nightclub & Bar publisher and editorial director. “These bars and clubs won the respect of our judges and of the entire industry, and we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments in Las Vegas.”

Nightclub & Bar also ranks the top 100 venues in the U.S. by revenue. Twenty-one were from Las Vegas, including nine of the top 10, reporting from $25 million to $70 million.

The winners for best of Las Vegas were:

Dayclub of the Year: Liquid Pool Lounge, Aria Resort & Casino.

Mega-club of the Year: Pure, Caesars Palace.

New Club of the Year: Haze Nightclub, Aria Resort & Casino.

Nightclub of the Year: Tryst, Wynn Las Vegas.

Ongoing Promotion/Party/Event of the Year: Vice Sundays, Lavo Las Vegas.
