Cigar lovers rejoice! Southern Wine & Spirits of America’s corporate director of mixology and spirits educator, Francesco Lafranconi, created these delectable tailor-made his-and-hers dessert cocktails for the Fuente family that pair exceptionally well with cigars.

The espresso-based Carlito’s Way was created for Carlito Fuente—son of Carlos Fuente Sr., who is don of the cigar brand’s empire—and inspired by the toasty richness of coffee as it relates to tobacco. When Carlito visits Las Vegas, he drinks his eponymous cocktail as a pick-me-up. “A rum and coffee affinity that never goes out of fashion,” Lafranconi says, “just like the Fuente cigars.” Named for Carlos senior’s daughter, Cynthia’s Dream is a sweeter drink that complements almost any cigar. “Such a temptation,” Lafranconi says, “an indulgence for the senses.” Something rich and creamy to savor when calories just don’t count.

Carlito’s Way

  • 1½ ounces Absolut Vanilia vodka
  • ¾ ounce Kahlúa coffee liqueur
  • A single shot of espresso
  • 1 whole cinnamon stick for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a stick of cinnamon.

Cynthia’s Dream

  • 1½ ounce Montecristo 12-year rum
  • 1 ounce Caffé Dell’Omo coffee liquor
  • 1 ounce heavy whipping cream
  • ½ ounce Amoretti Crema di Pistachio
  • Chocolate syrup for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass that has been swirled inside with chocolate syrup.
