IBM's Watson technology has nabbed a post-Jeopardy! gig with software company Nuance Communications.

The Watson system will be put to work developing the company's health care-related services. Nuance is known for its popular "Dragon" line of voice recognition software — including Dragon Dictation for the iPhone — and AllThingsD speculates that a doctor may be able to ask Watson for help in diagnosing a patient, adding "Researchers at Columbia University Medical Center and the University of Maryland School of Medicine are also getting involved."

So, helpful! Assuming you don't have a problem with problem putting Watson on your personal computer or iPhone.
