The other side of the coin came March 6, when Chateau Nightclub & Gardens had its grand opening—after, of course, Kim Kardashian, Whitney Port, Mel B, Elaine Wynn and Victor Drai had a chance to scope it all out the night before.

Yet Saturday was for Canadian hip-hop and all the glitz and glamour that go with it.

Drake gave the centerpiece performance of the evening when he got up in the fireplace DJ booth to spin a little mix before breaking into “Up All Night.” He moved over to the VIP section for “Over” and “Miss Me,” then returned to the booth to finish up.

He wasn’t the only one holding the turntables down that night (though he was the only one who had been on a Canadian young-adult soap opera). Samantha Ronson started her residency that night, while DJ Havana Brown—who toured in Circus with Britney Spears–took her turn. Finally, Nick Cannon got in a set. Presumably, because even going to work is better than sitting at home with a pregnant Mariah Carey.

Also checking the new joint out with a carefully executed 24-hours-later-than-Kardashian mission was Reggie Bush.
