Rockstar has announced that it is to release Grand Theft Auto III for iOS and Android on October 22.
The release is to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the open-world crime game. Interestingly, only the A5 processor-powered iPad 2 and iPhone 4S will be able to run it, dividing the iOS range remarkably soon after the launch of the latest hardware generation.
Android users have a wider choice of compatible handsets and tablets, including HTC Evo 2, Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - you can see the full list by following the source link.
"Grand Theft Auto III showed us the potential of open world games," says Rockstar founder Sam Houser. "It helped set the vision for the company, and we have been expanding on those possibilities with every game ever since."
Versions of the game will be available to play at New York Comic-Con on October 14.
A limited edition fully articulated 1:6 scale Claude action figure is also now available to pre-order at the Rockstar Warehouse. The price? A cool $149.99.
