Prior to his election as an MPP, Clark served as mayor of Brockville from 1982 to 1991.[1] First elected at age 22, he was the youngest mayor in Canada at the time.[2] He later worked as a journalist for the Brockville Recorder and Times, as an administrative assistant to Bob Runciman, and as the chief administrative officer of the township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.[2]
