Steve Armitage brings vast amount of experience to the chameleon-like roles he plays within CBC Sports.

During his 38 years with CBC Sports, Armitage has covered virtually every sport, announcing for World Cup soccer, Export A Skins Golf, CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, Olympic Games, Pan Am Games, Canada Games and the Grey Cup.

Armitage was nominated for a Gemini Award in 1998 for his work covering speed skating at the Olympic Games in Nagano. In 1982, Armitage received the Foster Hewitt Award for Excellence in Sports Broadcasting.

A former St. Mary's University quarterback, Armitage was born in High Wycombe, England and grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He has lived in Vancouver for the last 25 years.
