"Into the Wild Green Yonder Part 4" is the eighty-eighth episode of Futurama, the sixteenth and last of the fifth production season and sixth broadcast season and the fourth and last cut from Into the Wild Green Yonder. It aired 30 August, 2009 on Comedy Central. The Feministas are sent to prison, while Fry finds the Dark One whose mind he can't read.

[edit] Act I

After a quick recap of the previous episodes, the plot resumes at the Earth Supreme Court, where the Feministas stand trial by the court lead by Snoop Dogg's head. The Feministas are charged for several crimes, including protecting the environment. Nixon, Bender, Fry and Leo Wong are witnesses at the trial. The vote by the judges is 5-4 to acquit. However, the female judges' votes only count half, and so it is 4-2.5 to convict.

The Feministas are sentenced to Maxi-Padlock, a high security women's prison. And with the group gone, Leo schedules the demolition for the next day. Fry is unsure what to do, so he seeks out the Legion again. The Number 9 Man explains that Fry has to stop the Dark One from stopping him stopping Leo Wong, and in order to do that, he needs the Omega Device. The device, when activated, will momentarily disable the Dark One, giving Fry a chance to stop it. However, to recognize the Dark One, Fry has to come up with a plan himself, Hutch explains that its thoughts are unreadable, which gives Fry an idea.

At Maxi-Padlock, the group is planning an escape, Leela attempts to get the muck leech to crave its way through the walls. Back at Planet Express, Zoidberg and Scruffy have finished repainting the ship back to its original green colour, while Farnsworth and Hermes have been watching the news about the arrest on the new MagnaPhallix 304", Farnsworth has still not been convinced to do something about getting the crew back.

The muck leech has failed, but Bender breaks the Feministas out instead. Bender explains that this allows him to commit 50 felonies at once by breaking them out, putting his score way above theirs.

At the violet dwarf star, Leo has gathered a large crowd to overlook the demolition. Meanwhile, the escape from the prison is successful with the Planet Express ship arriving just in the nick of time. The rest of the staff has decided to help the group. Farnsworth explains his discontent with living with the thought that he got bribed and misused his position as a scientist.

At the gathering, Fry is trying to find the Dark One, by trying to spot whose thoughts he cannot read, but despite trying, he cannot spot the person or creature in question. Fry remembers that his thoughts cannot be read as well, and concludes that he must be the Dark One himself. The Planet Express ship arrives to interrupt the countdown. Despite their efforts, Leela gives back the detonator to Fry, and he uses it straight away.

However, while unseen, Fry had connected the wire to the Omega Device. The device has no effect on Fry, as it turns out, the muck leech is the Dark One, who explains he is the last of its kind. While he is disabled, the asteroids in the star system forms a line with the life-filled asteroid in front. The line floats into the star, and the star begins developing like a fetus, which forms into an Encyclopod.

As the Encyclopod speaks, Leela asks what's going on, and as Hutch begins to tell her, he is attacked by the Dark One, and finally dislodges Frida's necklace out of Fry's brain, though dies as a result of the attack. The Encyclopod destroys the Dark One and preserves the DNA of Homo sapiens. Fry is confused, because he thought it only saved the DNA of endangered species, the Encyclopod flies off without explanation.

However, Zapp is still after the arrest of our crew. A chase ensues. As the crew approaches a worm hole, Leela finally admits to loving Fry. With little time, the crew agrees the only way to go now is in to the worm hole. Into The Wild Green Yonder.

Fry introduces the recap

In order to make this quarter of the film fit into an episode's timeslot, some transitional shots were shortened slightly, and some other larger cuts have occurred.

• After the start of the introduction and the caption from the film, Fry is seen on Planet Express' balcony, he says "previously on Futurama". He plays his holophonor and the camera zooms into the holographic cloud before the recap begins.
  • This is a reference to "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", which was the final episode of the original run, an obvious reference to this possibly being the final Futurama episode at the time of it's broadcast.
• Leo Wong isn't seen testifying.
• Justice Dogg doesn't close with "Peace" after handing out the verdict.
• Fry doesn't say "The name "Omega Device" sort of conjured up something cooler looking. Not that I'm disappointed or anything."
• No mention is made of farting, or the need to be at point blank range.
• The Warden isn't seen turning off the lights and Leela doesn't announce that the coast is clear, nor is Amy seen falling off her bunk
• Leela doesn't say "That's right. He's been living off me since we got captured."
• Farnsworth's comment that "This is a business, not a social club. Money talks." and the subsequent talk with money is missing
• Amy's line "Bender, is that you?" became simply "Bender?"
• Bender's confusion about nutmeg is edited out, so that in this version he simply forgot about the guards.
• Zapp doesn't say thanks to Kif after sitting on his shoulders.
• Leo doesn't warn Fry "careful those wires."
• Nixon's head's thoughts aren't heard.
• Calculon's line about his operating system, Windows Vista, was changed to Windows 7.
• Amy's mother doesn't say her name in surprise.
