Sultangazi is one of Istanbul's new districts. It was founded in 2008 for "New Local Government Law" in Istanbul, Turkey.

Esenler and Başakşehir are at west, Gaziosmanpaşa is at south, and Eyüp is at north and east. Gaziosmanpaşa district were the divided to three districts, Sultangazi is one of them and it's at obvious. The TEM highway draws to border with Gaziosmanpaşa. Sultangazi is divided into three places: Habibler, Gazi and Sultançiftliği. "Sultan" word of Sultançiftliği (meaning farm of Sultan) is combined with Gazi, and then Sultangazi created.

This district's population is crowd, includes immigrants from Bulgaria and Yugoslavia, and Black Sean Turkish populations.

Sultangazi have 3 precincts, 11 neighbourhoods and 1 village.
