Sandra Kennedy

Sandra Kennedy (born 1937) is an American democrat politician. As of 2006, she serves as the city clerk of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a job she had held since January 1, 1983.

Kennedy started her political career in 1980 when Fort Wayne mayor Winfield Moses appointed her to the Fort Wayne Board of Public Works. In May 1983, she won a special election to serve the remained of the term left by her predecessor, Charles Westerman. Later that year, she ran for and won a full-term as city clerk, and was reelected in 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999 and 2003.

Although she shares a common last name, Sandra Kennedy is not related to the prominent Kennedy family of Massachusetts. Sandra Kennedy's only role in national politics was as an Indiana delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
