Location of Michigan within the United States
The following is a List of Michigan State Historic Sites . The register is maintained by the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office , which was established in the late 1960s after the passage of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 .[1] Sites marked with a dagger (†) are also listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Michigan . Those with a double dagger (‡) are also designated National Historic Landmarks .[2] There are 2,730 total listings distributed through each of Michigan's 83 counties .[3]
