Jackson Crossing, formerly Paka Plaza, is one of two enclosed shopping malls serving the city of Jackson, Michigan. It opened in 1960 and has been renovated in the 2000s. Anchor stores include Sears, Target, Kohl's, Toys "R" Us, Best Buy, TJ Maxx and Bed Bath & Beyond.

History[edit]

Paka Plaza opened in 1960. It included thirty-four stores, with W.T. Grant as a major tenant.[2] Sears opened a department store at the mall five years later, relocating from downtown Jackson.[3]

The center was converted from a strip mall to an enclosed center, with Toys "R" Us, Kohl's, Target and Best Buy joining as anchors. Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust began renovation on the mall, adding Bed Bath & Beyond in 2002[4] and TJ Maxx in 2005.[5] The company also renovated the mall interior in 2008.[1]

Jackson Crossing has had an increase in vacancies, with 15 vacant storefronts in late 2010.[6] Citi Trends opened at the mall late in the year.[7]
