Pat Shortt (born 12 December 1966) is an actor, comedian and entertainer.[1] In 2007, he starred in the film Garage, directed by Lenny Abrahamson for which he won the Best Actor award at the 2008 IFTAs. In 2008, An Post issued a postage stamp featuring Pat Shortt, as Josie, in the film Garage.[2]

Pat began to be recognized when he starred alongside Jon Kenny in 3 of D'Unbelievables series which was very successful in Ireland, The first of which was entitled "D'Video" which was a live random sketch show, the second of the series was entitled "D'Telly" in which Pat and Jon played various characters but mainly 2 brothers who run a shop together, and the final made of the series was entitled "D'Mother" where Jon's Character runs a pub with his "Mother" who was later revealed to be his father (Played by Pat), one notable character played by Pat Shortt was Dan Clancy known for telling "his stories"! later appeared as one of the main characters in the spin-off Killinascully He also played the part of crazy man 'Tom' in Father Ted . His character donned a uni-brow and a 'I shot JR' shirt.
