Area code 906 is the telephone area code for the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan, including the following cities:

- Ishpeming, Michigan
- Isle Royale National Park
- L'Anse, Michigan
- Mackinac Island, Michigan
- Marquette, Michigan
- Menominee, Michigan
- Norway, Michigan
- Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan
It is among the least populous area codes in North America, serving only about 320,000 people. It was created as a split from 616 on Sunday, March 19, 1961, as a flash-cut, with no official permissive dialing.
Area code 906 is in the Eastern Time Zone except for the counties bordering Wisconsin which are in the Central Time Zone.
