[edit] History
Route 58 replaced the 685/687 trolleybuses between Walthamstow and Canning Town. The route was subsequently altered to make travel time shorter, and route 158 took over everything south of Canning Town. The south terminus was eventually moved in 1993 to East Ham. In 2001, a night route, N58, was introduced, but this service was dropped when the contract with Transport for London expired. Today the Canning town area is operated by route 330. Route 58 was originally tendered by Stagecoach Group, but in 2005 First Capital gained the contract for route 58.[1]
