[edit] History

Route 82 was introduced in 1986 to replace former route 2B between Baker Street & Golders Green and the Sunday service of the former route 26. It ran from Victoria to Golders Green (Monday to Saturday), North Finchley (Monday - Saturday garage journeys) and Barnet Chesterfield Road (Sundays). The section between Barnet & North Finchley was withdrawn and replaced by diverting route 84A in 1991. It was extended at all times to North Finchley later in the same year. [1]

In 2001, the route was upgraded to Volvo B7TL / Plaxton President (VPL) double deckers. [1]

In 2002, brand new Dennis Trident 2 10.5m / Plaxton President (TPLs) were introduced to replace the VPLs.
