*edit* Oh yeah, I've been to Loch Ness, and it's not polluted. It's got a lot of natural sediment floating around in it, but the water was just as blue as you could imagine according to the nice photos I took there.

OMG. I once saw a documentary concerning dragons. Honest to gods. I think it was made by some sci fi guy. They didn't call them dragons per se, however it was pretty close. They had these fossils and simulations and things. I assumed that they were either; joking, serious but about creatures resembling dragons, or seeing how many people they could con by using fancy language.
I'm currently trying to locate the name of this via google.
Oh and Terry? That new show called, "Merlin" isn't exactly a real documentary you know.

Ancient people drew depictions of the bones with skin/muscle from the knowledge they have of how extant creatures look/behave.
Creationists come along and point to art as "eyewitness accounts."
Modern people laugh at creationists.

Some of their descendants are alive today and various species that were around at the time of the dinosaurs are alive today.
Dinosaurs themselves--not so much.

"Dragons" in the West were symbolic of Satan. The Good Christian knight's slaying of the "Dragon" was symbolic of Christ's/God's victory/power over Satan.
"The dragons in China lasted a little longer; Marco Polo saw one of them."
Dragons in the East, from what I understand, were representative of elemental forces of nature.
Marco Polo often liked to repeat hearsay without telling you he was doing so. While, from what I understand, he actually made the journey, much of what he wrote about came from tales travelers told him and not personal experience.
