Egyptian Canadians are Canadians of Egyptian ancestry, first-generation Egyptian immigrants, or descendants of Egyptians who immigrated to Canada. According to the 2006 Census, there were 54,875 Egyptians in Canada, [5] while more recent estimates by Egyptian Canadian Associations total 60,000 [1]. The largest religious group among Egyptian Canadians are the Coptic Orthodox Christians, who number around 50,000 members in Canada,[3] although there are other groups that have a smaller presence, such as the Sunni Muslims, Coptic Catholic Christians[4], Coptic Evangelical Christians and Armenian Egyptians
