Recount for Galway West as Laois Offaly and Wicklow settled
Just 17 votes seperate Independent candidate Catherine Connolly and Fine Gael's Seán Kyne.
Meanwhile, talks between Fine Gael and Labour are set to resume on the formation of a new Government.
Although the final five TDs of Galway West have been deemed elected, they have not yet been declared.
In the early hours of this morning, Fine Gael's Brian Walsh was elected on the 12th count while the Independent Noel Grealish will be elected without reaching the quota. Fianna Fáil and Labour had already secured one seat each.
Independent Catherine Connolly has called for a recount as there are just 17 votes seperating her and Fine Gael's Seán Kyne. The recount will start at 4pm today.
Meanwhile, the counts in Laois Offaly and Wicklow - both five seaters - finished up in the early hours of this morning.
In Wicklow, Fine Gael took three seats, Labour took one and Independent Stephen Donnolly took one. Fine Gael's Andrew Doyle, Billy Timmins, Simon Harris, Labour's Anne Ferris and Stephen Donnelly were all formerly declared elected
In Laois Offaly, Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil took two each with the fifth seat going to Sinn Féin.
Brian Cowen's brother Barry, fellow Fianna Fáil candidate Sean Fleming, Fine Gael's Marcella Corcoran Kennedy and Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley won seats.
It comes as talks between Fine Gael and Labour are set to begin on the formation of a new Government.
The two parties have appointed negotiating teams to carry out more indepth discussions, which will begin later today.
