Using the Site
Browsers
We have extensively tested the new-look breakingnews.ie in the most popular
browsers to try to ensure it looks as consistent as possible in all browsers.
Every site will show differences in how it displays content, depending on the
browser being used to look at it - the trick is to try to minimise these
differences so that readers have a consistent experience.
You may see minor changes in how the site looks depending on the browser you are
using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc) and depending on the version of
that browser. These browsers may also display content differently depending on the operating system they are installed on, ie Windows, Macintosh or other.
For example, the modules (or content boxes) of the site look slightly more
closely aligned in Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 beta (available
here) than in Internet Explorer 5.5.
Please feel free to send us feedback on your experience of the site
here.
Video and audio player
To see our video and hear our audio clips, you will need to have Flash installed. This can be done for free here.
Click on the arrow beside any clip to go to the story relevant to that clip.
Click on the red buttons ‘Ireland’, ‘Sports’ or ‘Entertainment’ above the player
to see a playlist of all clips in each section.
Sports statistics
We have laid out our sports statistics
in a system of lists so that you can choose between all the options to see only
the statistics that interest you.
For example, if you wish to see the latest eircom League results, please click
on ‘EIRCOM LEAGUE’ in the results section of the statistics page. You will see a
list drop down with the information you require.
