[edit] RAF Polebrook

Just wanted to say that RAF Polebrook looks pretty professional. I'm not familiar with the material but it looks rather nice. Good work! Isopropyl 11:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Air Force work

Great stuff with all the work you've done on cold war USAF history. When you're uploading images in the future, might I suggest that you use this license: {{PD-USGov-Military-Air Force}} instead of the US Government standard license, as its more accurate. You don't need to select anything in the pull-down list of licenses, just paste that into the image discription when you're on the uploading screen. all the best, Cornell Rockey 20:06, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Eielson Air Force Base

Fantastic work with this page! I would love to submit this article for peer review, but there are some things that need to be done first. We need to cite all possible references and link to them within the article. We could also expand the article a bit, maybe listing more about the operations of other groups and squadrons on the base. Are you currently stationed here? Anyway, as a suggestion, there is a license template that would be more appropriate for military badges: {{PD-USGov-Military-Badge}} Kajmal 00:06, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cam Ranh Airport

I (actually my stupid sockpuppet did it because I forgot to change browsers) moved the Cam Ranh Airport back to it's own article as it is an operational airport and should really have it's own article. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 12:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alternate Udon Thani / Udorn Thani spellings

Hi

I think Udon Thani International Airport is "correct" for Wikipedia, not Udorn Thani International Airport - but if not, you'll need to rename Udon Thani, Udon Thani Province and Diocese of Udon Thani too...

Hi,

I agree in part and also disagree in part to the above statement.

We have two issues here. As happens in many areas of the world in which USAF bases are co-located at a foreign civilian airfield, there are two names. As an example, at Frankfurt International Airport (Germany), Rhein Main Air Base was the name of the US Air Base located at that airport until is was deactivated in the 1990's.

The US Air Base in Udon Province, Thailand during the Vietnam War was named Udorn Air Base. I agree that the civilian name for the airfield is Udon as referenced above. I suggest that anyone that has any questions about the name of the Vietnam era Udorn Air Base should look at these official USAF documents.

[edit] RAF bases in England

I have noticed that you have main a large contribution to RAF bases in England. I am currently writing an article on RAF Davidstow Moor. Do you have any information or an aerial photograph of the base? --Benjaminevans82 22:05, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Usafeuk-2006.jpg

I like your pic showing all active duty USAF bases on the UK... but it is missing RAF Menwith Hill and RAF Welford. Jazznutuva 12:17, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Remember

Don't forget the common rule, "I before E, except after C"

You're work on the article List of units using the A-7 Corsair II is strongly appreciated (you really konw your stuff), but don't forget to look out for common typos. I had to change "recieved" to "received" at least 30 times.

Thanks for your contributions!--Renegade Replicant 00:07, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hahn Air Base

Hi Bwmoll3, I like the work you did in splitting up Hahn Air Base and Frankfurt-Hahn airport. That's so much better now. Thanks for your work. Cheers, MikeZ 11:15, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coordinates

Just wanted to let you know that I removed the coordinates from, London Stansted Airport, Earls Colne Airfield and Toul-Rosières Air Base as they are already in the infobox. Also they are not required in that format to be listed in Google Earth. If you look at Cambridge Bay Airport, which has never had the coor title template you can see the article is in Google Earth. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:49, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chalgrove Airfield

Good job on the contributions to Chalgrove Airfield, but please try to insert relevant wikilinks rather than just a big dump of text.--Cheesy Mike 19:57, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Benjamin O. Grahm at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base

Just letting you know I've noticed a problem with your initial content here. --Mark Hurd 01:21, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] USAFE Bases

Thanks for the info on RAF Spanhoe... as I'm looking at these bases, not sure I should even include them on the infobox. Regardless... I'm PCSing from England in August to Germany... hopefully I can help more on the German bases when I get there. Jazznutuva 12:45, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Placement of GBthumb template

You may have noticed that I have moved some of the GBthumb templates that you have placed on RAF station pages. The maps look much better at the top of the page rather than in the "See also" section. Where there is a photo at the top of the page I would recommend placing the map immediately underneath it. --Cheesy Mike 07:59, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tempelhof

What does the text you have restored have to do with Tempelhof? Nothing that I can see. Intelligent Mr Toad 10:24, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 432d Wing

Please use inline references when adding material so that the source for the statements can be verified. These are inserted at the end of the material that is derived from the specific source. You can also use one of the cite templates to format the material correctly. You can read Wikipedia:Inline citation or Wikipedia:Citing sources. BTW, thanks for the additions. Vegaswikian 18:12, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks, looks good. I did change some to use the name tag on the ref tag so that you don't need to repeat the cite information on each citation. Easer to cut and past. It also lists all references to one item in a single line in the references section. Vegaswikian 02:17, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Apology!

Sorry for editing Yokota Air Base while you were working on it. Now that I know you're actively editing it, I'll stay away while you work. Best regards Fg2 03:36, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: USAF Bases in the UK

Thanks for the information... I've added all I thought needed to be added. Let me know if you see any more you deem worthy. I might go back and update the template similar how I did my University's one... see {{University of Virginia}} for an idea how it will look. I also reworded the topics to better reflect some are still active bases... just without USAF components any longer. Jazznutuva 11:02, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't know how to edit this template, and I saw that you created it. You may wish to add the SAC bases from the 1940s and 1950s that I've listed on Strategic Air Command in the United Kingdom Regards ... Bwmoll3 03:13, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Strategic Air Command in the United Kingdom

Hi Bwmoll3. You are off to such a great start on the article Strategic Air Command in the United Kingdom that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. The Main Page gets about 4,000,000 hits per day and appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Also, don't forget to keep checking back at Did you know suggestions for comments regarding your nomination. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 14:06, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Speaking of which,

Updated DYK query On July 30, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Strategic Air Command in the United Kingdom, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] Langar

Hi. Good job you've done on RAF Langar. Just wondering why you reverted back to the small image. On my computer at my normal resolution of 1024x768 it's barely the size of a postage stamp.BC (talk) 16:34, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

You may wish to check your preferences and look at the default size for thumbnails. I've taken off hard image sizes and using the default 'thumb' size, to whatever the user has set in their preferences.Thank you for your comment as well. It is appreciated :) Bwmoll3 (talk) 19:23, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Good idea. I'm learning new things about WP everyday! Regards. BC (talk) 20:05, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 29 December 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article 477th Fighter Group, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves

By the order of the coordinators of the Military history WikiProject, you are hereby awarded the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves in recognition of your superior contributions to a variety of articles about the United States Air Force, including a great number of those dealing with wings and installations. For the coordinators, Kirill 02:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RAF Staplehurst

Hi, you may not be aware that a tag has been placed on this article. The reason for the tag is that although five sources are quoted as sources, there is nowhere in the article that these sources are referenced. As you have the info, perhaps you could add the references. If you need help with actually adding the refs, let me know. Mjroots (talk) 18:06, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] [:Image:Mccoy1.jpg] and others.

Hi, had you considered uploading these to Wikimedia Commons rather then English Wikipedia so that all WMF projects can use them? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SPAM: Open Street Map..

Hi, were you aware of (or interested in the Open Street Map project, given your former connections with GIS systems? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:28, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Thier wiki ( OSM is not a WMF project ) is at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Main_Page I would suggest reading pages linked from there :)
The current version of OSM's mapping is at http://www.openstreetmap.org
The top level (as far as I can determine) for the current continental US appears to be :

http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=38.6&lon=-92.4&zoom=4&layers=B0FT although by browsing the map more specific areas could be examined.

Hope this helps

[edit] McCoy AFB Images

I would load them into commons. How do I do that? Bwmoll3 (talk) 12:37, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Refer to the instructions linked to by the template I added to a number of your uploads :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Record Images

I've added appropriate license tags to a few of these, so that they aren't removed by the bot's that look for missing licenses on uploads, I hope you don't mind. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Bottersford-apr44.jpg and simmilar

Thanks, you might want to clarify the exact dating on these, as the original (which is reproduced) may be Crown Copyright(albiet expried). I am assuming in good faith the publication mentioned in respect of the annotations is a work of US fedral Govt?. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:37, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images and Wikimedia Commons

Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is, however, another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading your media there instead. That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view images you have previously uploaded by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'image' namespace from the drop down box). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!

Wikiwings 2.0

Wikiwings are the official award of WikiProject Aircraft. Styled after military flight wings, they are awarded to anyone who makes extensive, high-quality, or generally valued contributions to the area of aviation on wikipedia. They can be awarded by anyone, to anyone, in a barnstar-like fashion.

The wikiwings award is modelled after Rlandmann's wikiwings award, and were officially adopted by WikiProject Aircraft on October 29, 2005.

I, BQZip01 hereby award Bwmoll3 these Wikiwings for exceptional work in improving Carswell Air Force Base. — BQZip01 — talk 00:06, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
