This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Behavioural science. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary, it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Behavioural science|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- Note that there are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove links to other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Behavioural science.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Please be sure to follow the three basic steps when nominating an article for deletion. While not required, it is courteous to also notify interested people—such as those who created the article, or those who have contributed significant work to it. Thank you.

Effects of sex in the media[edit]

Unspeakably vague and haphazard WP:NOTESSAY violation that sounds like it was written decades ago despite being created in 2017 (why is there no information on LGBT people at all? Why is BDSM lumped together with rape and genital mutilation as “violent sexual content”? Why is the best statistic on porn they could find from 2006?). Seemingly just a bad copy of the already very shabby effects of pornography article. Was this created for a college project? Needs WP:TNT via draftification at the absolute minimum. - Delete per nom, after merging anything worthwhile into Effects of pornography (although that's at AfD itself). On the positive side, there are plenty of scholarly sources, even if some are dated. But I was expecting content on sex in films and TV shows, or even something like advertising, to differentiate this from the pornography article. I don't see that, making this a WP:CONTENTFORK. I don't think it's worth keeping a redirect because the search term could also relate to things like Sex in advertising. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 17:45, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Sdkb: I see that this article has a lot of material on pornography. I think that pornography and mass media are distinct things. Do you think that if all the pornography stuff was moved, and other cleanup done, it is possible to build an article on Effects of sex in mass media?VR talk 05:08, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Theoretically possible, yes. But we already have sex in film, sexuality in music videos, sex in video games, and Exploitation of women in mass media. So some careful consideration would have to be given to the scope and to how to avoid forks. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 06:03, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Sdkb: thanks for pointing out those article. Of them, only one contains a section on effects (Exploitation of women in mass media#Effects on society. In fact, if this article is kept there should be a hatnote at that section to this article because the content that section covers is very similar to this article's scope.VR talk 06:08, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

- Delete per WP:NOTESSAY - this is written like an essay. --Whiteguru (talk) 20:56, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Delete - While AfD is not cleanup, this is clearly just an essay and a likely content fork from effects of pornography. The title is also rather vague. What media? What effects? What definition of "sex"? HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 06:42, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- from my perusal, “media”=porn, “effects”=effects of pornography, “sex”=straight, cis people doing it Dronebogus (talk) 10:18, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- Delete The first reference cited is not reliable. The article reads like a magazine op-ed using a dozen random academic journal articles with barely any relevancy to the topic. Multi7001 (talk) 02:57, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
