[edit] History

On October 21, 2005 Groupe TVA was granted a broadcasting licence by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for a channel called Télé-Services, described as "a national, French-language Category 2 specialty programming undertaking offering programming devoted to manual labour such as construction, renovations, repairs, gardening, landscaping, decorating, interior design, mechanics and hobbies."[1]

The channel launched on February 19, 2008 as Les idées de ma maison télé, named after Quebecor Media's home magazine, Les idées de ma maison.[2]

On October 18, 2010, Les idées de ma maison was renamed as Casa,[3] the Spanish word for "house", while still focusing on the same genre of programming.

[edit] Casa HD

It was revealed, via Casa's official Facebook page, that the channel will launch a high definition feed on December 14, 2011.[4] The channel officially launched on December 14.
