UE3 Water (30mar09)

Hourences' How to create water materials.  I have not done this material.  I just applied one of the existing materials to a surface. Hourence says not to use a BSP plane because they will cast shadows, but I think you can turn cast shadows off.

UT3 - 2.0 Patch   is available (24mar09)

After you download the 2.O patch follow these steps:  [Peter Smuda]

 1. Make sure your map is fully built then save it and exit Unreal ED.

2. Make Backups of your map files and packages.

3. Delete the \Unreal Tournament 3 folder that is created under My Games.

4. Restart Unreal ED.

5. Unreal ED will create the folder structure again.

6. Drag the files you backed up into the appropriate folders

     (Packages in C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Unpublished\CookedPC)

     (Level in C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Unpublished\CookedPC\CustomMaps)

7. Then just open up front end and cook it using the instructions that were posted earlier. 

 NOTE:  This did work with Windows Vista 32 bit, with Run As Administrator checked.

NOTE:  You will have to re-enter your CD key when you start up Unreal Tournament so have it handy

If this is your first time creating a Material in the Unreal Editor, be sure that you read up on Importing Textures, Creating a New Material, and The Material Editor.
