Goldthwait's God Bless America is an honourable failure. It was as subtle as a shotgun blast to the face with characters literally explaining their motivations to the camera. It could be an effective device but utilised clumsily here. Enjoyable in places but I think James Gunn did it better and first with Super.

What about 'The Imposter'? Was that from this year or last? I've read you guys giving it glowing reviews but it was one i never got round to seeing. That Bond documentary as well - i'd never heard anything about that. Would that be included in the extras on the Bond boxset i wonder?

The Innkeepers? Sure, if you want to see RIDICULOUS acting "The Innkeepers" should do it. If you want to ruin someones good mood go see Rec Genesis which was a huge let down for me since the first two movies were really fun and scary

So you say that [REC] Genesis is a hidden gem, one of the best films we may have missed in 2012. Then you link to your review, which gave it just 2 stars. Pants year for movies, then?

Why did critics love Innkeepers, but audiences hate it? I mean I thought it was incredible, seen it 3 times now, still is utterly terrifying, but there really has been polarised opinion.

The Innkeepers was fantastic, best horror film I have seen in years. A director that understands that pacing, tension and character are more important to a horror film than blood and gore is hard to come by these days. A good, nay great old fashioned ghost story. MINOR SPOILER.. Claire taking the rubbish out is one of my scenes of the year. Not only as it made me laugh, a lot, but it achieved it's goal. It lulled me into a false sense of security for the scare that was to follow. Expertly done Mr West.

I’m a self-proclaimed cinephile so I’m surprised that I haven’t watched even one of these movies. Looks like I have a ton of new titles to add to my Blockbuster @Home queue that I have set up through DISH. I’m glad that they have such an extensive selection of movies, so despite the fact that I haven’t heard of any of these, they’re still surely to have them for me. I’ll have to ask one of my coworkers at DISH if Corman’s World is any good since he’s a big fan of Jack Nicholson. I don’t remember seeing any trailers for it, so thanks for sharing!
