If Josh Hartnett could have put on a proper English accent I think he would have been fantastic as Loki.

Kevin Spacey's impression of Christopher Walken auditioning for Han Solo is brilliant. "Its NOT. Like dusty..for crops. Boy."

Poor Eric Stoltz filmed half the movie before he was replaced on Back to the Future! Saw a clip of him once as Marti Mcfly, so dam strange seeing someone else actually IN the role!! Not just a screen test.

I would have liked Pacino to play C-3PO...then he could introduce R2 to everybody with these words: Say hello to my little friend. And Bill Murray as Batman...oh yes, I would pay good money to see that! And Leo as Patrick Bateman?? Oh no, Leo's not bad-a$$ enough for that.

I love Sean Connery but I don't think he would have disappeared into the character like Ian McKellan was. Connery's voice is too distinctive and his face too famous. Can't think of anyone else playing Gandalf now!

Don't think Sean Connery could have done all that Matris kung fu either!

Re: Dougray Scott as Wolvie. You've obviously seen Twin Town. He was quite savage in that.

This is the type of list which makes sense to have 50. Make more of these and less "50 Performances Which Ruined Movies."

You've left out Ronald Reagan, who was considered for Rick in Casablanca!

Without Harrison Ford in Raiders, there would not have been the shootout in the market square, anyway. He is the one who suggested "why don't we just shoot the f*cker?", due to dodgy local cuisine giving him arss gravy. Had it been Selleck it would have remained a drawn out set piece.

You don't have to imagine someone doing Lecter better than Hopkins. Watch Brian Cox in Manhunter and you can actually see it happen.

An egyptian character, intended for an Italian midget, that ended up being played by a giant Welshman. Only in Hollywood. Great article guys.

Is it me or is Julia Roberts a bad actress? I mean, she basically does the same performance in every movie. God knows how she won an Oscar.

I think Ashton Kutcher is doing just fine, tbh. He's not the greatest actor, but he's on one of the biggest TV series...he's about to portray Steve Jobs...and he's still doing ptoducer work. So, I don't think he's really going in the wrong direction!

Connery didnt 'get' the Matrix or LOTR? Thanks god he didnt do them then or we'd never have the league of extraordinary gentlemen or the avengers. Cheers for that Shir Sean.

Asston Klutcher would have long disappeared in to TV movie land, had he not been riding Demi moore and her coat-tails.

Oh! The irony of OJ Simpson being considered for the role of the Terminator! That's almost too on the nose.

I have to say their idea of an interesting Bond because an actor drinks and womanises is so poor. Critics and journalists need to get over their love affairs with mediocre as s**t actors. Stop hyping people up just to pretend their great later on.

The cruiser as Tony Stark would have been awful. The idea of Eddie Furlong as Spidey is quite cool though.
