Not bad little list. However, Polanski only stepped into that role when the actor didn't turn up. And the best director's cameo is always gonna be Terrence Malick in Badlands. Any brief glimpse of that genius' face has gotta be worth the No. 1 spot...?

I always thought the Peter jackson cameo in Hot Fuzz was him as one of those forensic guys at the beginning - So who are those people doing the cameos at that bit (i think Cate Blanchet is one of them)?

Cool list, but cameo is one thing and having a small role is another. QT in Reservoir Dogs can't be considered a cameo because he is in more than one scene. He even reappears later... to die. Also, a hand? Not a cameo. A face is a cameo.

Not necessarily a great cameo (but as you've doubled/trebled up on some of the directors on here), what about Todd Solondz on the bus in As Good As It Gets?

The other great cameo from Hot Fuzz is Angels girlfriend, played by Cate Blanchett.

SiMan, obviously the lady is Cate Blanchett but two of the other forensics geezers are Joe Cornish (Adam and Joe, Attack The Block) and I believe Edgar Wright, might be wrong about Edgar Wright, but the other one is almost certainly Joe Cornish, he is called Bob btw, thanks IMDB

My favourite Todd Philips cameo is in Road Trip attempting to suck Amy Smart's toes.
