Like his most famous character, Daniel Radcliffe graduated in 2012. Free from the Harry Potter franchise after eight blockbusting movies, everybody wanted to know what he was going to do next.
What he did was scare the pants off us. With book adap The Woman In Black, he delivered his most mature performance yet as widower Arthur Kipps. The film stayed with us for weeks and Radcliffe set out his ambitions in full – he’s not going to play this one safe.
Sticking to that, he’s spent the remainder of 2012 filming roles in incredibly diverse projects, from donning horns for, er, Horns to playing gay poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings (pictured above). Both are due out next year; 2013 can’t come quickly enough.

Buffy was not cancelled. It ran for seven seasons & the story was wrapped up. Angel was cancelled--but still had five whole seasons. Dollhouse had two short seasons--but that was pretty good for such a challenging show. Cabin In The Woods was finished in 2010; MGM's bankruptcy led to its late release.

Ok. WTF Ben Affleck didn’t even make the top ten, let alone the top 5, Come on I like Avengers, but you all acting as if Joss Whedon rewrite the bible, was I only person who what a film called ‘The F@£king RAID” what that 1st time director Gareth Evans did was F@£king.awsome…Ok sorry for the bad Language. FBNPhotoflash, Gareth Evens wasn't a first time director when he made The Raid though. He also did a couple of other movies. I can at least recommend Merantau if you like martial arts action films. Doesn't quite reach the same level of insanity as The Raid, but really what else does? Good film.

@FBNPhotoflash I'm a Whedonite, but I also thought there was something lacking in the Avengers. Joss Whedon did great things with it, but there weren't many things that really stood out. I mean the story wasn't anything special. The only thing that stood out was his Hulk. And i agree Ben Affleck should be higher on the list.

Gareth Evans a first time film maker? Weird....a couple years ago I sat behind him at the Palm Springs Film Festival screening of Merantau....guess I imagined that. Its funny because both of your posts tried to make others look stupid and you just ended up making yourself look stupid. Well played little lady.

Do some research, it's pretty common knowledge that film has been sitting on the shelf for some three years after the MGM debacle. Clearly it was resurrected and maybe even touched up a bit before a quick release due to the nascent popularity of both Chris Hemsworth and the anticipating of Whedon as a brand. Why not try accurately conveying how the industry works before lavishing praise upon all these people, claiming they work like bees.

I worry for the future of Total Film. The Amazing Spider-Man sucked, Andrew Garfield was terrible in it. Maybe you think taking twenty minutes to say a line with lots of 'ums' and 'ahs' is great acting. The Avengers was fun, but overrated, plus you know that Whedon didn't write Cabin In The Woods during the same time so, dafuq? Plus, having George Lucas feature in the list? What a joke! The man hasn't contributed anything worthwhile since the '80s.
