I found "Love Actually" pretty fun. Ok, I really didn't care about the story with Liam Neeson's Brat. But the episode with Colin Firth was quite nice...but it's Bill Nighy who saves this movie...he was, as usual, great! "Serendipity" (John Corbett's music scenes are hilarious) is a heart-warmer...yes it's cheesy...it's unrealistic, but also heart-warming...and aren't X-Mas movies allowed to be like that?....or isn't that even the point? And "Trapped In Paradise"?? Jon Lovitz alone is already gold in that movie (or Cage's expression when he learns about the "news" when the family is telling him that the bank got robbed). "Fred Claus" was alright too...especially every scene with Giamatti in...(even though Vaughn almost ruined the movie). "The Grinch" is pretty much a modern classic....(it's because I'm green isn't it!!??). "Jingle All The Way" is definitely a guilty pleasure. And I seem the be the only person on the planet who actually liked "Christmas with the Kranks".

I really enjoy Love Actually. I think all the plots work, some poignant, some funny and some just really feel-good. It works on all levels!

I agree with Bandit1 and FBCd***son, Love Actually might be very slushy and sentimental but isn't that what you want from a Christmas film? It's become a Christmas classic with my family, and besides, everyone's mum loves it! I also agree with FBCd***son about the Grinch, I loved it when I first saw it and I still think it's pretty funny, and I don't know any children who don't love it too. I think a lot of people who don't like it are nostalgic for the original cartoon, but maybe I'm too young to appreciate that, I never saw it before I saw the live action version, the animation is rubbish and the whole thing seems very dated to me. Yes, I went there. Also, Rent is hardly a Christmas film, but apart from that I've seen it both on stage and on screen and I do actually prefer the film (although purists might disagree with me) as it cuts some of the weirder parts of it (e.g. the weird orgy song in the middle) and tones down the operatic aspect of it (which I didn't find worked that well). It's not everyone's cup of tea because of the bohemian themes, but it's not a bad film by a long shot. On a completely different end of the spectrum, Jingle All the Way is a terrible terrible film, but I still watch it every Christmas because it's so bad it's good. How can a film which features Arnie screaming the line "PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN!" not be awesome?

I actually liked some of the movies on this list namely Just Friends, The santa clause 3 (its not the best but its ok), Jingle all the way and as a massive Jim Carrey fan, I love The Grinch. Also, from what I've seen of Love Actually, I thought it was pretty good

Wow, how could you put Love Actually and The Grinch on this list? They should be on the list of greatest Christmas movies. These two are films that really gets you into the Christmas mood, which is exactly what a great Christmas movie should do!

Jon Lovitz is as about as funny as blue waffles and (if not previously mentioned) Santa Claus: The Movie was a barrel of bum gravy. That is all.

they may all fall in love but over half of them dont get a happy ending. the married couple gets seperated, the guy is in love with his best friend, the woman has to choice her brother over the man of her dreams. so im not quite sure how the entirety of this film makes you gag but if you say so.

Love Actually was one of the worst films of all time, the only film I asked for my money back at the end of which I was forced to stay for. A collection of c**p actors and Liam Neeson playing out a whole pile of different cheesy awful plots yeah that sounds great. The prats who liked that film are the reason it has not been condemed.

I'm going to assume the person who made this list is jaded and also must hate older movies with heart. It happened on 5th avenue and pocketful of miracles might be a little cheesy but they have a wonderful optimism to them and they are filled with great character actors in both films. I don't know about you but I would rather watch these classic Christmas movies over any of the trite c**p they put out now.I would love to know what is the criteria for you guys to consider these movies "bad", since many on your list might have mellon collie stories but all of them have a good positive ending and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. by the way Prancer is a very cute movie as well and santa claus conquers the martians is a cult classic!! This list sucks!

Agree with Surviving Christmas being number one. Awful, awful movie. But shouldn't Bad Santa be number two? The fact it's not even on this list boggles my mind. It was terrible... Oh and The Grinch, Love Actually and Serendipity are all great movies. As most of the other comments confirm. = )

Love Actually is quite fun...Christmas With The Kranks is legendary in my household, it's one film that never fails to get me all Christamssy. Was there no Santa Claus: The Movie on this list? That film is pure c**p, certainly worsen than some of the others mentioned here including Chingle All Dah Waay.

I love Prancer and its actually one of my favourite Christmas movies. It doesn't rely on any fancy special effects as most of these movies bit simply a sweet little story with charm. The moment at the end of the movie where the father reads Jessica the Christmas poem in bed (as her dead mother used to) is heart wrenching. Ps also love , Love Actually!
