The first trailer has arrived for Derek Cianfrance’s crime drama The Place Beyond The Pines, featuring Ryan Gosling as a motorcycle driver who turns to a life of crime to support his newborn son.
His stunt-driving skills make him ideally suited to making a quick exit from a string of bank jobs, but it isn’t long before he has Bradley Cooper’s rookie cop on his tail, and finds things growing ever riskier.
Cooper meanwhile, is one of the police force’s brightest lights, only to find himself embroiled in the shady dealings of a morally dubious old-time copper played by Ray Liotta.

From what we’ve seen so far, Gosling’s reunion with Blue Valentine director Cianfrance looks to be an exciting one indeed, with Cooper in particular turning in what promises to be a career-best performance. And then there’s that superlative supporting cast…
Co-starring Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn and Rose Byrne, The Place Beyond The Pines will open in the UK on 12 April 2013.
